‘Magical’ services will be placed front and centre
CONNECTION and resilience for older residents will be the focus of a major community outreach day in Inglewood next week.
CONNECTION and resilience for older residents will be the focus of a major community outreach day in Inglewood next week.
Inglewood and Districts Health Service community engagement officer Cindy Gould said Music, Mingle & More would break down isolation, share information on IDHS services and “bring people together for fun”.
“This event is designed especially for people aged 65 and over. It is a great chance to get out of the house, meet new people, and learn about helpful local services,” she said.
“Connection should feel a little magic and this event will bring that to life with entertainment, friendly faces, and useful information to support healthy ageing.
“Local music and a cheeky comedy magic and storytelling show will engage and mesmerise.”
Short talks about local services will be given by Inglewood Community House Inglewood Community Bank on fraud and scams while Josh King from Ambulance Victoria and the emergency response team from Loddon Shire will speak on emergency preparedness for residents.
“There will also be time to ask questions and have a chat with the IDHS social support team,” Cindy said.
“This event aims to help older people who may not already be part of local programs to feel more connected, build friendships, and learn what support is available in the community.”
Music, Mingle & More is a free event including lunch.
